Joe Tirado

Joe is currently a Technical Service Specialist in the Application and Development group at Henkel Corporation in Madison Heights, MI. Previously Joe worked 20+ years at MetoKote Corporation as Global Director of Technology and Quality, and 9+ years doing electrocoat consulting to clients in USA, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific (Ti6 Consulting). 

Joe has over 35 years of “cradle to grave” experience in all areas of electrocoating including design, build, environmental, product and process development, operations, process control, quality, service, troubleshooting, and operations involving multiple substrates, pretreatments and electrocoats, both anodic and cathodic. 

Joe has worked with all major global electrocoat OEM’s like Axalta, PPG, Valspar BASF and S&W, and has actively participated in over 80 electrocoat system cleans, fills and start-ups around the world.

Joe has written many articles as the Products Finishing electrocoat clinic expert and has participated as presenter or panelist in several Electrocoat Association ecoat conferences & troubleshooting workshops. Joe is well known as an independent, innovative, resolute and practical global ecoat industry expert.

Joe holds a BS degree in Industrial Chemistry/Chemical Engineering from the University Complutense of Madrid in Madrid, Spain, and a Solar Design & Engineering License from Spain´s Solar Energy Center CENSOLAR in Seville, Spain. 

Joe is looking forward to slowing down in the Spanish beaches and sun, and doing some ecoat consulting, time allowed.
